Health and financial well-being depend on speech

And this applies not only to spiritual people, but also to those who want to succeed financially. The ability to speak and listen is studied very seriously in all business schools. Even in the criminal world, to rise in the gangster hierarchy, one must be able to control one's tongue. There is a very realized quotation of Buddha's saying that you can kill a man with words. Three minutes of anger can destroy ten years of friendship. Words strongly determine our karma. One can spend ten years in spiritual development, in charity work, but by insulting a great personality, one can lose everything on all levels and degenerate into lower forms of life. Where does it come from? From insults.

Vedic astrology says that the shadow planet Ketu is responsible for insults. Ketu is the kind of planet that gives quick reactions, often instantaneously. Ketu also gives liberation. But in its negative aspect It punishes insults and disrespectful speech, quickly stripping a person of everything he has achieved spiritually and materially. In the Vedic civilization, every person was taught to watch his speech very carefully. Until a person has spoken, it is hard to recognize him. One can distinguish a fool from a wise man when he speaks. Speech has a very strong energy. Specialists possessing subtle vision say that people who talk with the mat, speak rudely and insultingly, immediately get a black spot in a certain place of the subtle body, which in a year or two can grow into a cancerous tumor.

SPEECH IS THE MANIFESTATION OF THE LIFE FORCE

The most important thing that language is meant for is reciting prayers, mantras and discussing topics that bring us closer to the Divine. One can also discuss practical matters as needed, and communicate with loved ones. But, the main thing is not to overdo it. Ayurveda says that speech is a manifestation of prana. Prana is the life force, the Universal energy. The more prana, the more healthy, successful, charismatic and harmonious a person is. So, first of all, prana is spent when a person speaks. Especially when someone criticizes, condemns, makes claims, swears. According to statistics, 90% of all quarrels happen because we speak badly about someone.

The most successful people are those who speak pleasantly and know how to control their speech. The Bhagavat-Gita says that the ascesis of speech is the ability to speak the truth in pleasant words. People who speak rudely occupy the last places in all hierarchies. This is true of countries in general. Note that countries with a high speech culture are more successful - Japan, Germany, and in general, all the countries that are members of the G8. Although there is cultural degeneration going on there now, which includes degradation of speech culture. And this affects both the economy and spiritual life in general. In the East, a person who cannot control his speech is considered very primitive, although he may be a professor in the West.

KARMA IS DETERMINED BY OUR SPEECH

It is important to remember that if we criticize someone, we take on negative karma and bad character qualities of that person . This is how the law of karma works. And we also take the qualities of the person we praise. That is why Vedas call us to always talk about God and saints and praise them. This is the easiest way to attain divine qualities. That is, if you want to acquire some qualities, all you have to do is to read about some saint who possesses them or to discuss their qualities with someone. It has long been noticed that we acquire the qualities of the person we think about and, consequently, talk about.

That is why even Western psychologists advise us to think and talk about successful and harmonious people. But the more selfishness and envy there is in us, the harder it is for us to speak well of someone. We must learn not to criticize anyone. I had one patient who according to his horoscope from a certain year was supposed to have a serious illness, but he was doing fine. I asked him what he started doing that year. He answered me that he had made a vow that he would not criticize anyone. And he said that he really noticed that his life had improved, his spiritual practice had reached a new level.

Those who criticize us give us their positive karma and take away our bad karma. That is why in the Vedas it has always been considered good to be criticized. How does speech work with our karma? In the Mahabharata it says that if you have set something in mind, something you want to do, don't tell anyone about it. Once you have spoken about it, it is 80% less likely to happen, especially if you share it with an envious, greedy person. Why do people who speak little and thoughtfully accomplish more? They don't lose energy.Another simple rule related to speech is that if we have done something good to someone and brag about it to others, at that moment we lose the positive karma and all our fruits of piety that we have earned by that act. Braggers accomplish very little.

Therefore, we should never brag about our accomplishments, for at that moment we lose all the fruits that we have previously earned. "...Let your left hand not know what your right hand is doing" (Gospel of Matthew 6:3).
